Python app

Has anyone built a mobile or web app in Python? How difficult is it?

A website, absolutely. Many companies use Python as the backend of their site. They use django and flask. Django can be hard but powerful, flask is a bit easier. A phone app, yes Python can make one. You'll have to use a framework specifically made for that. There is one but it's name escapes my mind right now. Python can make apps, even good ones, but it's not very good at that. In regards to phone apps, it's easier to just work with Java or Java based languages like Kotlin or Clojure.
