Which language should I learn next I was thinking of learning html or python, any suggestions?

of course the answer depends on what you want to do...
- if you want to make web programming, you must learn HTML because it's a basis to build web pages (and you can't learn php or JS if you don't know HTML)
- if you want to make scripts for many reasons, develop your understanding of algorithms, functional programming and POO, I would recommend to learn python, it's a nice and fun language!

python is manly a script language (in Linux it's very easy to automate repetitive actions with python, Blender use it also). But you can use it like every general language to make your own application (pychess is for instance a chess game with AI and multiplayer capability made only with python)
