Hey all, are there any recommendations for portfolio/Github worthy mini projects?

Question

Firstly, I would recommend Github as a platform to show of your best codes and to explore large repositories that may interest you but more personally my github is bare and I would like to fill it with interesting projects when I have time.

Do you guys have any suggestions we can share to help others too? Thank you in advance!

P.S If it helps my preferred programming language is Java but I am open to anything.
