@ jerome mcnay. Yess.. Javascript will handle the interface, animation etc. And php will handle process like upload, send data etc. We use both

Javascript is client side programming meanwhile php server side programming. Using both will make your webpage dynamic

To break it down. If you are using it for web development, then php as a processing system;however, a good website usually has both JavaScript and php. JavaScript to run the functions and php to process the information given. For example a login page, the JavaScript would run the function, then php would process the input.
