As what @Jamie said, the answer is correct, though this is just grammar now.
"[I]t" can refer to the statements within the aforementioned "if" block. However, "if" would be a wrong choice; "The statements within if" would not make much sense. If you wanted to do that, you'd have to correct it to "The statements within the 'if' block". (Sorry if I'm being too linguistic here. đ)
