Each has wide application and a broad user base. Google "Java or Python" and you will get lots of discussion about the pros and cons of each.
I prefer Python (but I'm not a programmer or a developer) because the syntax is relatively simple and straightforward, rather like the way I wish people would talk.
Phyton on the other hand is of course the Suel god of Nature, Beauty, and Farming, whose symbol is a scimitar in front of an oak tree. š

They do different things, so I guess you'd choose the language which accomplishes what you want to do.

I came to SoloLearn for Java. I stayed for the community and I'm now doing Python. However, I did a few others before I got there. I did have plenty of experience with other languages before I got here though, including C and C++.
