[Off-topic] How to build confidence in group coding exercises?

I'm a quite an introverted person, and often feel like I don't have a lot to say. I really want to pursue a career in software development, and I know that there is a lot of teamwork involved. Don't get me wrong, I love working in teams, especially when it comes to coding. However I find it very hard to contribute to discussions sometimes, because I feel like I don't know very much and don't have a huge amount of experience like the others. What should I do to make myself more useful?

Don't say that you don't know as much as the others! The field of programming and software development is a friendly one, and injudgemental! 👍

@Jonathan Carver Thank you. I think coming from an academic background, there's always this feeling of inadequacy that I find hard to shake off. SoloLearn has been very supportive as a community, but even then I'm worried that it won't be like this in the 'real world'. I'm trying to build my confidence by building small projects and going to job interviews. Haven't had much luck yet (in fact one or two terrible ones where I felt like a total fraud). The thing is, I want to get better at programming, but I feel there's only so much I can do on my own, and that's why i think a job would help me focus and learn. But i think a lot of companies only really want the ppl who can already do the job. This then leaves me in a rather awkward position. :/ anyway I guess I will keep trying. Thanks for the encouragement. :)
