The character encoding (charset) declaration is also simplified: <meta charset="UTF-8">

If you want to write characters like Ă€, ö or ĂŒ, you have to write "&auml;", "&ouml;"... or just write "<meta charset="utf-8">" to display everything correctly.

UTF-8 charset is not necessary in html5
