There is no age limit in learning anything (note the *learning* word) apart from that you need to really assess yourself and ask yourself do you really need to jump, most people I found to be good in coding here are at least good or really good with maths, knowledge in math helps solving problems apparently, at least so I thought. However, leaving a steady job is a big decision, and there's no way to tell what may come ahead, people say if you want to succeed then you dive in deep, others say do what you love to do, but still there's no guarantee. I don't know about you, but I have seen hard working people who does what they love still not making a life out of it, or at least not yet. If you have a family to support then you really need to think this through, this is just my opinion though, don't let me discourage you, in the end it all comes back to you, if you have faith in that plan, and you're willing to sacrifice for the goal then you go for it. All the best : )

It is never too late to follow ones dream! But, honestly, I would learn to code on the side until proficient if I were you.

My opinion: carry on your stable career now. I think you should learn to code just for fun.

I think 30 years is a great age to start coding. Coding is a very broad area, I think you can start looking at the type of programs u want to create, and then you will figure out which languages and tools you need and then start coding. I was helping a man last year( he is in his middle 30) to fix some issue with his program, he just had an idea of the program and he created it from scratch without any coding experience in 1 year just by following some tutorials online and published his program to the App Store, the important : he didn’t quit his job, just try and see if you like coding , Have fun

I think it depends what you want to do and also how fast you learn. I can tell, that many companies e.g are desperately looking for data scientists for various projects. That requires some coding but not experience as software engineer. Prototyping is a good example. You could start a career from there for example. Also getting a job anywhere depends on the marketplace. There is high demand in many countries. I do also see a trend that certificates matter less and less and you need to show what you can do. So bottom line imho, not impossible and depends on your conviction. Cheers

You are not old!! I'm 40 and I don't feel old. You can go and learn with https://www.virtual-forms.com/pluralsight, they have an Artificial Intelligence that can predict at what point of learning you are (because you are a math teacher) and it will suggest you the courses to take. They also have professional mentors, to help you. There is also a free trial, and you can test it if this is for you. Hope this helps, Davor
