Depends on what you want in the future. Python is very useful for data science and for handling data in general, so if you have to deal with issues of that kind Python will be useful for you. Python is very general, so it can also be used for other ends - pretty much anything, I think. Web development, science, etc. Anyways it’s a growing language and should be more and more popular in the following years, so it can help people getting jobs too.

In the near future python will be one of the most dominant languages in the field (say 10-20 years). But with the rise of a lot of new languages implementing more modern techniques and knowledge, it is not clear whether or not it will survive longer than that. The main strength of python resides on its great library ecosystem, which is the main attraction for many newcomers. Until these libraries are ported, binded or new ones with the same functionality are created python will still have some importance. Still, I would not only learn python unless you only wnat to use it for small very specific things
