Okay, I think I understand what you're saying. C++ isn't C, but it is certainly based upon C in concept and meant to extend its functionality while maintaining the familiar feel of C. In a similar way, Python is heavily based upon the ABC programming language. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ABC_(programming_language)
