Clearly i have a way to go, but is there anyone who can give sort of a cdash course in the basics?

''cdash''? C# is (literally) called "c sharp". There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube and other sources on the internet are always available to you. Dig around a bit yourself. Don't look for the ''perfect course'', because it doesn't exist.
