why not? every language have some fields in which it is used and that is why it probably exist, not because someone was boring and decide to make one more language

C# is preferred over VB.NET, and so is .NET; at least in my experience.

VB.Net isnā€™t anymore extinct than COBOL. There will always be more companies than expected that has a legacy system in a legacy language. That said, learn it when you need or if you like it. Even though it isnā€™t dead, itā€™s probably not high enough in demand to warrant you spending the time on it now.

@Vukan, VB.NET has been extinct ever since C# was introduced, based on majority. Spend 15 minutes looking for a job position that looks for VB.NET over C#, I dare you. šŸ˜‚ C# is the replacement of VB.NET.
