SQL!

Question

what's the difference between SQL and SQL Server? can anybody explains about this because i am being confused about SQL server like why we need to use this?

so you have a database full of ice cream flavours. SQL queries can be used to retrieve flavors or add new ones. a SQL server executes the queries and makes sure there's no errors if a flavor is read and rewritten to a different name at the same time, or multiple rewrites of a flavour happen at once.

so writing sql is like you telling the ice cream man you want blueberry ice cream stick in the shape of sonic the hedgehog, and the ice cream man getting it and making sure everything is in order is the SQL server.

SQL is a language used to handle database related works.
While, SQL server is a Microsoft owned application which uses it's own SQL (T-SQL) to handle database related works.
