You can definitely make a game in Python. Bah, there's a whole module for that - pygame - which is strictly for 2D/3D gaming fun.

But... if you want to get into professional game development, stay out of Python and focus on C++ or C#.

Which kind of game? Console one or GUI based? Try PyGame for GUI ones.

Python is not at all recommended for core AAA game production. It is used for simple core game creation, such as: 2D, 3D, and simple interactive games.
