Take a look at this site and practice then you will make progress ratatype.com Here you can learn and practice rules to get habits first then when coding respect the typing rules you feel better after every try.It is not mandatory but it is better than typing the bad way.

Most of the time you'll be thinking rather than typing code. your typing speed will improve as you learn to code. I'm assuming you are not writing code on a phone?

Nop, it's not necessary . You can code even when you're slow at typing . But it's pretty good if you improve your typing speed
