What do you mean by software here? Or rather, what is Python code lacking compared to "software"? I would consider any snippet of functioning Python code software.

If you want a user interface search the python wiki for GUI, there is a giant list of frameworks for that. If you want compiled code, check out py_compile. Hope it helped.
