It matters...which one are you better with? They are two separate languages , both do separate things. What thing do you want to do?

none is better than the other. you have more power with c++ but better support with java. for virtually any high level problem you can use any of them. java is a bit more verbose, but imo that's a good thing. some say java is slower, but that's not true anymore for at least 3-5years (in general, there are edge cases though). if you start programming i would direct you to java or python since they are more beginner friendly
