Unwanted proportional font in python

With a recent update to the sololearn app on my Android phone I no longer have a monospaced font in the code editor or in the output window. So code alignment (indentation, etc.) is hard to do visually in the code editor, and attempts to format output neatly (like in a table) no longer work. Is this unique to me, or is anyone else experiencing this issue? Are there any known fixes? Thanks for any help.

Interesting... That could be the case as I'm still stuck with a device on Android 8.

Hm, what version of the app are you on? I'm on 4.11.2 and the code editor font is still monospaced for me. It doesn't seem like intended behaviour, so I would suggest filing a bug report.

Hatsy Rei It looks like I'm on version 4.11.2 also. Ok, I'll file the bug report. Thanks for the help.

Runtime Terror I would hope sololearn wouldn't use a default font, because any non-monospaced font would be inappropriate for a code editor.

I'm on Android 12, but I'm pretty sure my default font on my phone has never been a monospaced font, and in sololearn the code editor and the console were always monospaced in the past. I'm also pretty sure this difference surfaced with the last sololearn update, but I think the first couple of times I saw it I just thought it was a glitch.

I found a way to change the default font for my phone, but the only choices are proportional-spaced fonts. But changing it does change Sololearn. Maybe Sololearn defaults to the system font if it can't find a monospaced font? I'm going to see if I can add a monospaced font to my phone.

Though I don't know why the installed fonts would have changed.

Well, that's it. If I make the system font on my phone monospaced (not very pleasing to look at) it changes all of sololearn to that font, including in the code editor and the output console. So I guess I'll be switching my font back and forth to use sololearn. Frustrating, but I guess my willingness to do that is a testament to how much I enjoy sololearn. [But I still wish they'd fix this. šŸ˜’]

I reported the issue to sololearn six days ago and just got a response that they "have forwarded your issue to our development team". I guess we'll see what comes of that. I am getting pretty annoyed with having to flip my system font back and forth to effectively use the sololearn app. šŸ˜
