There are some steps you must take in order to gain some upvotes.

1: Make some decent codes, people don't upvote something that's not interesting at least.

2. Codes stay in Hot Today for 48h. If you want to post a new code, save the code you have been working on as a new code(using "save as") then post it, to make sure it stays as long as possible in Hot Today.

3. Advertise the code in posts specially made by others for showimg your best codes, like this:

4. Being active in Q&A and commenting on other's codes also helps a lot :)

You are widely unknown and don't advertise your codes .
1.) Be visible in q&a
2.) Advertise your progs like Mitali does for example
