Sololearn app broken by 2022-DEC-02 update

Question

I installed today's update to the Sololearn app on my Android phone and now the app is unusable. Clearing cache didn't help. I had to open the browser to get here.

Oddly, the description said there are no changes in this update, but it mentioned that one developer had a shifty look. Amusing, but now I wonder if there is something to it.

I would ask who else had this problem, but on second thought if you did, then you can't get in to see my question unless you think of using the browser!

Well, let me try the converse question. Has anyone had success with today's update (2022-DEC-02)?

I don't seem to get any of the errors mentioned above
My sololearn app is working fine after updating to the latest android version
I'm running the app on my Samsung Galaxy note

I updated today on an old android. No problems so far. When i start sololearn i see an animation of a rocket, before i can really start.

Paul thank you for that description. When I run the new version, the rocket appears, but it is only a static image. I didn't know it was supposed to be animated.

I have a newer Samsung, S22 Ultra. I'll try it on an older phone. In the meantime I'll wait to see if they come out with a fix in the next couple days, before emailing support.

EDIT: I tried it on my older Samsung S7. It had a working Sololearn version 4.33.1. After installing the latest update from Google Play Store it breaks. Briefly it shows a dark blue screen with a circle of dim light blue stars, then switches to the rocket image in the lower third of the screen. The rocket does not animate. I cannot do anything more with the app after that.

ODLNT my Google Play app seems to be more up-to-date. There were three updates after Nov 22.

NOV-22 4.33.1 (1870) 37.02 MB
NOV-29 4.33.1 (1870) 22.26 MB
DEC-01 4.34.1 (1872) 37.57 MB
DEC-02 4.34.2 (1873) 37.57 MB

Even the DEC-01 update worked before.

I managed to roll back to the NOV-20 version (4.33.0) and I am using it now.
