[OFF-TOPIC] Just passed Microsoft Software development fundamentals exam (ref # 98-361).

Exam included 35 questions and lasted 45 minutes. Got 790 with 700 passing rate. Used official textbook (it covered only about 70% of what actually appeared on exam!). Also used free mva.microsoft.com course and techvese.com questions. Glad to add this pass to my CV.

@YomnaAnwarAhmed: 1) first, I studied the course "Software development fundamentals" on Microsoft Virtual Academy (mva.microsoft.com). It took couple days (4 hours of video, 7 assessments). Plus, I went half through "C# Fundamentals for Absolute beginners" by Bob Tabor. Also on mva.microsoft.com. All courses there are free and very useful! 2) I started to read Microsoft textbook for this exam and realised that sitting the exam would add motivation to the study. So I enrolled to the exam 98-361 and read the textbook in another 7-8 days remaining before the exam. I didn't get everything in the book. Not all the book is testable. There are also topics that are tested but missing in the book. But generally this is a good reference. 3) I also sat several mock tests on techveze.com. With very diverse outcome, from 80 to 45% result. 4) I read on wikipedia about data structures and some other topics I found personally challenging. That's probably all.

@LovelySingh I cannot share specific questions (it is forbidden by the exam rules), moreover, I do not remember specific questions. Exam generally followed its syllabus as described here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/exam-98-361.aspx There were also couple questions outside of this syllabus. So general reading on the topic of software development is desirable. It's a good thing to be prepared to something unexpected (as it often happens).

I recently used https://loorex.com test engine and must confess it is very comfortable to use. Here you can download exams from http://onlinetestcentre.com/98-361.html and train yourself.
