How good do I have to be to start programming robotic devices?

well, robots are kinda different, before you even begin try to really dominate a language, I honestly don't know which one is the one that robotics tend to use the most but I'm gonna guess python because of its vast library, after you learn to program, but really learn to program, you need to learn to build robots. and after that you'll need to take courses specifically designed to teach you how to program robots.
