do i have to learn java to learn android programming?

iam learning java these days i just want to know if wasting my time or not because i want to learn android programming that's my main goal

I would recommend you to learn PhoneGap(HTML, CSS, JS). It's easier than Java. HTML, CSS, JS can also be used to make websites.

@Lakshay But Java isn't that good to be used as a first language. You could learn it later.

I think you should learn Java, as android development is mostly done in Java, and a new language Kotlin is very similar to java. C/C++, python etc. are not considered good for android development.

@Yousef So, being a begginer you can first learn python, to strengthen your concepts then learn C language and then try Java.

@110000 Any language can be learnt as a begginer if we understand its very basics. C++ was my first language and i like to code in it.
