you could split your partition for dual boot and install Kali Linux on the second partition ( not the one with the windows ), most of the Linux distros are detecting windows and installing grub automatically.
but the safest way to do this without even risk to do something wrong is to use Virtual machine, for this kind of stuff I would suggest VirtualBox over VMWare.
