Visual Basic vs C,C++ and Java??

Question

We learn how to code by using VB at school,but some of my classmates didn't like it.
They didn't tell me why concretely and I want to know the reason(please help me!!)
Besides,the school entrance exam will test programing but only can answer in C,C++ or Java.
So that means VB isn't important??

Because Java or c/c++ is free.
