Are there any advantage or disadvantage playing games for programmers ? 🙄🙄

I play lot of games. Should I need to give up. How can I give up it? 🤖🤖

like jay said sorta, playing games can be justified.

if you're a game designer, you can learn a lot from well designed games like super meatboy or mario odysessy.

if you're a programmer or hacker, you can learn stuff from trying to make mods or insert cheats.

and yes, playing popular games can count as market research; you'll find the elements people like and hopefully you'll remove parts they don't like and innovate in ways they do like.

and lastly, yes games can be a unneeded time sink that distracts from work. you need to discipline yourself. but theres no harm in playing a game on your lunch break or while somethings compiling.

I'm totally agree to @jay and @Ahri. There's no harm to play games since it promote strategic planning, team collaboration, unleashing creativity and so on.

However, the only problem is addiction as anything of too much is no good. Play moderately unless you're aspire to become a professional gamer. 😉
