theres been lots of great games made with gamemaker, some that you may of heard of include
Nuclear Throne, Undertale, Hyper Light Drifter, the original Luftrausers, Super Crate Box, Gunpoint, Hotline Miami, and Spelunky.

its great for starting out as the language is straight forward and it makes making games easier to understand but its also good if you want to make a game that only requires what game maker gives without the other mumbo jumbo that other game engines have
