You should be able to create a custom exception class that extends the Exception class, for example:

class WordContainsException extends Exception {
// Parameterless Constructor

// Constructor that accepts a message public WordContainsException(String message) { super(message); } }

throw new WordContainsException(); } } catch(WordContainsException ex) {
