Can someone explain the exponentiation basics?

I’m super new to coding and this is the first time I have heard of such thing with numbers. Raising a number to the power of another? Helps please and thanks! :D

Exponentation is the act of multiplying a number by itself the amount of times the secondary number says, so:

If you have 3**2, that means 3 times 3, which equals nine!

If you have 4**5, that means 4 x 4 x 4 x 4 x 4, which equals 1,024!

Programming involves a TON of integrated mathematical concepts, but I think you can do it!
