I will say it depends. If you want to get in all things web then you will come across Javascript sooner or later (intermediate understanding becomes necessary). so will need to learn Javascript. I would recommend Javascript, it's the only thing that runs on most devices. you don't need to install anything. check the below medium article it neatly explains it's benefits. if the below points don't matter to you then go with python. And on another note: You can't really master a programming language & all it's frameworks in just a year. It's less time & there are too many frameworks. so better learn a single programming language than later try some framework you like. That's all, Have a good day! https://medium.freecodecamp.org/what-programming-language-should-i-learn-first-%CA%87d%C4%B1%C9%B9%C9%94s%C9%90%CA%8C%C9%90%C9%BE-%C9%B9%C7%9D%CA%8Dsu%C9%90-19a33b0a467d

I don't know about JS, but Python won't be possible in 1 year if you really want to master the whole framework.

@Muhammad Fajri python is rising because of data science and machine learning (along with R). As for javascript, there are many popular, powerful frameworks built on javascript for web programming. Finally it's up to your passion.
