What was your first impression of programming? And why did you stick with it?

For example, after "hello world", I thought it was just a complicated way too do simple math. But I found a complicated project to work towards and realized it's a powerful tool. I stuck with it because I realized how much I don't know.

my fist impression was programming was a alien knowledge when I was in 10th grade, then after my 12th I took CSE because I read a article about stuxnet computer worm, which made me thick programming as "Wow".
