what I read in posts and articles was this, A lot of banking software and life critical applications still rely on good old java, because of which oracle cannot give up legacy support in java and add all the latest features at the same time. this was an issue for Google, as they needed a better language to keep up with the pace of rapidly shifting technologies and ease of development for the android platform and also their upcoming new OS ( whose weird name I forget evertime 😅). So they added kotlin as their primary Language, but note that java is not deprecated or something like that. I also read in few posts that Oracle was getting greedy on selling licences, hence Google had to resort to this. But there are billions of devices running on java, it's not going anytime soon, companies are still looking for java experts and fresher's. moreover KOTLIN community has still to grow, and u r unlikely to find all the answers for ur doubts on development with KOTLIN as u can find for java. but the scary truth for java developers is that a complete codebase in java can be easily converted in KOTLIN, and companies have started implementing it in their newer projects. Best answer I found, beginners : start with Java intermediates: stick to java and learn kotlin too if free Experts : they ll be good with anything 😅, but they ll play with KOTLIN just to get the upper hand in upcoming market
