localStorage is an Html API (Application Programming Interface), meaning that's an Html feature accessible through JavaScript code (outside web browser context you cannot use localStorage functionnalities, but JS is required to use it in such context)...

Anyway, localStorage is NOT available in webview context (that is, in android app' context, such as sololearn code playground in app -- but works in web site).
