What are the difference between these three : Core Java, Advanced Java and Servlet?

Core Java comes with just the basic features required for a generic programs. Advanced Java is a term used to refer some extra packages/libraries like JDBC (Java Database Connectivity) and Servlet etc. JDBC is a library useful when you are working with databases like Oracle/MySQL/MSSQL etc. Servlets are used in developing web applications in Java.

Core java is used for developing general javaapplication where as Advanced java is used for developing the web based application and enterprise application. & A Java servlet is a Java program that extends the capabilities of a server.
