At first we try to understand, what do you want to do with a program.
🔼If web development is your goal then learn JavaScript (HTML,CSS are also required for this).
⏩Python has very wide scope to work,
Web Development,Data science or Big data, Artificial Intelligence (AI), etc.
Python is most developed, precise and very easy to learn.Coding in Python is very short and simple.
Most of the new learners now choose Python as their first language to learn.

Javascript is extremely underrated and I agree that it is an amazing language that should be part of any programmers repertoire ( obviously Html and Css as well). But the interdependance with those two and the lack of a decent development environment does make it tricky.
Python to me is just so beautiful/powerfull on so many levels that I would have to say start with Python. But ultimately it depends on what you want to accomplish.

I choose java in December, getting easier everyday but it is very hard still. I like it. Doing html 5 and css3 at night and java during the day. Those guys are right. If it is web you want choose javascript/html5/css3. If not choose Java.

There is no best programming language! Python might seem easier but if you start with it it will be hard for you to learn other languages like C++ and Java later on.

I will suggest JavaScript. Though you have to learn some HTML and CSS first. Those two are not difficult to understand. They're just markups and styles.
With JavaScript, you can easily create cool visual codes with just your phone which could motivate you to learn more. And it doesn't require you to install large programs just to be able to start since JavaScript runs on browsers.
