Why do people follow you?

Just a simple question. Since random people started following me I've been wondering what does it do.

Oh, okey. I guess I'm going to get spammed with their acheivements and all that stuff so I won't do that. The whole idea of "... me and I will.. back" seems pretty stupid to me.

But, really, they're expecting follow backs. It increases their chances of getting the badges available on this app.
