bisect() method

Can someone explain me what exactly this method does and if possible show me example.
Thanks ina advance, answers I found on google are a bit confusing to me.

I'm not usually like this, but I just got irritated by his rude answer. If you can't help then don't act smart. I love to help people here, and I do whenever I have chance.
I would agree with him if it was some question that is posted many times on community. I don't see why there is problem asking question here, that is not explained in course, so all people can see answer, if someone gives any.

Please read the whole post, and if you can't help, stop writing s***. There are many a lot more stupid questions, so go and post there. Also this way, it might get implemented in java tutorial.
