Why should I learn programming?

I like learning programming languages but I'm sort of discouraged by the fact that I'm not learning them for any particular reason. What will I be able to do with them once I know them? what is the benefit to me?

Hm, you can make whatever you come up to? It really depends on your age, if you are in the early ages of your life you can study programming and then get a job or start your own company. For example for me it is really satisfying and fun to learn new stuff every day, to talk to people, to see their work, to experiment, try things, rearange, play, study...

Everybody should learn programming because it tells you how to think.. ~~Steve Jobs
