British spelling vs American spelling: is one preferred over the other in coding?
As an Australian, I use British English spelling. Pretty much all codes I've seen so far have used American spelling for words like 'colour,' 'centre,' etc. -Is American English the default spelling when coding? -Do British English users stick to British English (whether working solo or doing a joint coding project with American English users)? -Do any coding languages recognise different spellings? I'm wondering if I should get into the habit of switching to American spelling when writing codes...

Yes petty much, as so many languages were developed in the USA, most favorableb American spelling. So anything with built in objects or properties will likely use American spelling. If you make your own variables or objects you can use what ever names like.
