Why can you vote your own postings?

It is like self-gratification for low self-confidence

I don't often vote unless it's to send a msg like "nice", "clever", "lol", etc. to that person. I only -1 when something is so stupid, that it the person responsible should be drowned. Self +1s are a bug. I do +1 myself if someone -1s a legitimate answer of mine, just to get me back on 0 before The Sheep Effect happens. *The Sheep Effect: When a being performs an actions and others feel the compulsion without reason to unquestioningly mimic. Examples: If graffiti appears on a wall which has remained unblemished for months, within two weeks the wall becomes covered in artwork and profanities. If a child "bullies" another, lesser intelligent or dominant children begin "bullying". If a person or group claim a man/woman is attractive regardless of truth, s/he is considered so by a majority. See "The Sheep Effect: A Study of Sheople" by J. McMaster and Burt, Jennings, et al.

People with more votes get to the top of the posts, people vote for that. If I don't upvote my post, I am at the bottom of any answer. Others vote their own to say if it was wrong/right, I'd downvote my own if I realize it's incorrect.

Good thing that I don't put too much value into up- & downvotes. On the other hand: a "thank you" for helping someone or a "your answer/code is wrong because [insert explanation]" is highly appreciated.

What was my name again? But only other users can tell if you suggestion is useful/right or unuseful/wrong... For me also is a non-sense self voting... At start i thinked that it was a bug but its not so
