Fear of failure or that it won't turn out as you hope are often big demotivators. The only way to beat them is to beat them. Start small. You dont have to build some huge big project right away. Start small and work up. Don't overwhelm yourself with scope. Have a narrower focus. It helps to mock it up sometimes on paper. Draw it out. It's called wireframing. It can make the coding less daunting if you've already got a layout and functionality all determined. You can subdivide the project into easily manageable tasks.

Start small and make an assignment or more. If you can do that it will give you confidence for bigger projects.
