recently mi and my team completed a final yr project we developed a website.. in c#.net
c# is easy to underatand and flexible.. to develop backend logic..
i sujjest u if u want to develop a web project then..use a c#..

it depends on the nature of the project, just pick up the right tool for the job!
Then given the choice, it helps working with the tools you are most comfortable with, and/or that you intend to use often in the furure, since final project is an important step towards first employment.
