What programming language(s) are prerequisite to learning Java?

What programming languages should I have basic knowledge in, to learn Java easily?

None; but there's a saying that if you have some experience in C++, you would easily understand Java. That stands true at some extent though it's your choice in the end. There are no strict prerequisites.

BTW: I started right away with Java, no C++ yet ^^
