what do you mean?
python is a scripting langguage,
you can use to automate some work.
you also can develope software, in sololearn we learn about module. using third party gui library such as gtk, pyqt and wx python to create friendly user inteface. you might need to more thid party module depend on what software you want make and some might be available on pypi.
python also very popular in web development, (django), but I cant describe it since I have no experience in that.
in real life, knowing python langguage will be very useful - you can create lots of thing and faster development compare to most other langguage.
