➡you need a domain ✔ domain (www.example.com) ➡ and you need to host your domain ✔ hosting ( hosting service is a type of Internet hosting service that allows your website accessible via the World Wide Web. )

Warorua After you bought a domain name you have 2 options: 1) Get a computer, install Linux on it, configure Apache (or some other HTML server) and keep the computer on 24/7. 2) Pay a company to host the website for you. Imo, an even better (if more limited) option for a beginner would be using GitHub Pages. It's free, but your website ends in .github.io

As a follow-up, it looks like you have plenty of answers for the first part of your question ("What does one do to finally publish a website[...]") but not the last part ("[...]so that it can be googled."). If you don't tell Google to index and crawl your website, the only way users can reach your site after it is hosted (and live) is to have them type in the url (like "www.example.com"). If you want your website to populate in Google searches, you should have Google index and crawl your website. More information on that can be found here: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/6259634?hl=en This may be fine if you're happy that the website shows up on Google searches at all, regardless of how far down the results list your website appears. However, if you want it to show up near the top of the list of search results, there's a whole industry trying to guess Google's proprietary search algorithm and optimize their clients' websites for this very thing ("SEO"). Otherwise, there's always AdWords. I hope this helps! :)
