What's the difference between front end developer and back end developer?

Front-end developer takes care of user side of application while backend developer write code on server side.

EDIT: nevermind i’m wrong

Front end developer works exclusively with html and css to create the “front” of the website (the part you can see). Back and developers work in programming languages like javascript, php, and ruby. (The functionality of the website, where you cant necessarily see the code)
