Udacity has some free courses by Google for Android Development. I'd recommend looking at them, give them a try and fill in the gaps as you need.
The problem with learning xml, Gradle etc independently is that I can seem overwhelming, but if you start applying it in something you can get your hands on you'll learn quicker IMO
