student android dev here, currently i use XML and Java. XML is for layout design and Java is like the behind the scenes magic where it uses methods and passes data. You can also learn Kotlin instead of java. If you dont have alot of experience, i reccomend java because theres alot of helpful resources out there as opposed to kotlin
