Writting HTML on WordPress

Is it possible to still write code while in WordPress?

Yes, it is, if you have WordPress on premise (installation in a server of your own) you can see the source code as a normal project, and open it with any editor

By the other hand if you are using the web based WordPress, you can access to the files too...I don't remember the process but you can easily find it in google
